Airbus proposes acquiring Atos’s big data and cyber security unit, BDS, for up to €1.8 billion. This move aligns with Atos's restructuring efforts and debt reduction under the new chair Jean Pierre Mustier. Atos is negotiating the sale amid a significant decrease in its market value and a downgraded credit rating.
Meanwhile, Airbus seeks to enhance its digital capabilities and strengthen its defense and security portfolio. The talks are not exclusive, with other parties like Thales showing interest in BDS. Atos is also reconsidering a previous deal with Czech billionaire Daniel KĹ™etĂnskĂ˝ and exploring debt refinancing options.
Researchers at Hudson Rock recently released a report detailing significant cyberattacks against Iran's leading insurance companies and its largest online food ordering company, SnappFood. A hacker — known as "irleaks" — sold over 160 million records from 23 Iranian insurance firms, including personal details like names, birth dates, and contact information.
Hudson Rock confirmed the authenticity of the data, which also contained passport numbers. Additionally, SnappFood was compromised, leaking 3TB of sensitive data. Researchers speculated that the attacks, given their high level of sophistication, could be state-sponsored.
Xerox, a global printing company, announced it’s in the midst of an investigation into a cyber attack on its US-based Xerox Business Solutions (XBX). According to the company, the event happened during the holiday weekend. They released an official statement on December 30th.
In the statement, the company claims that the security incident had “no impact” on XBS operations or Xerox corporate systems as a whole. Nevertheless, they have hired third-party cybersecurity experts to shore up XBS IT.
